Observation at ultra-high magnification

When performing ultra-high-magnification observation, the edges of the specimen inevitably become blurred due to the effects of aberration. Aberration is a characteristic of lens performance.
Selecting the right lens can help minimize aberration to some extent.
However, since the choice of lens significantly affects the product price, it is necessary to select the appropriate lens based on the specimen being observed.

We offer:
(1) general-purpose ultra-high-magnification lenses, and
(2) high-performance ultra-high-magnification lenses with maximized performance.

We observed the pattern on a silicon wafer using two lenses at 1200x magnification.
A 5-megapixel USB 3.0 camera (CS500-GC) was used for the USB camera.

For general-purpose lenses (NSH500CSU)

With general-purpose lenses, the edges of objects spaced at a 1 μm pitch appear to bulge, making them look as though they have merged together.
The criterion for selection is that if 1 μm objects are present without being in close proximity to one another, general-purpose lenses can be used to verify their presence or position.
They are suitable for applications such as foreign object inspection and pattern detection.

For high-performance lenses (this unit)

High-performance lenses allow for the individual identification of features with a 1 μm pitch.
Criteria for selection: High-performance lenses are recommended for applications such as surface observation involving changes at the 1 μm level or the observation of particles clustered together where the particles share the same color.

同軸照明の特長

同軸照明（LED同軸落射照明）とは一旦照明をレンズ内に入れて、レンズ方向から
垂直に照明を落射させ観察物を照射し、その反射光を同じレンズで受け取る方法のこと。
通常のリング照明ではハレーションが起こりやすい、金属、樹脂、シリコンウェハなど
光反射率の高い対象物、銀色にメッキされたシールやフィルムなどの表面観察にも適しています。

拡散反射物の観察にはリング照明が適しています。
