サーモグラフィーとは、物体から放射される赤外線を検知し、その分布を画像（熱画像）として可視化する技術や装置のことで、「熱の記録法」を意味し、高温部を赤、低温部を青などで表示することで、目に見えない熱の状態を色で直感的に把握できます。非接触でリアルタイムに温度分布を測定できるため、電気設備の異常検知、建物の断熱不良調査、夜間監視、防災・救助活動など、幅広い分野で活用されています。
