Diffused ring lighting is ideal for observing the inner walls of holes using oblique- or side-viewing borescopes.

These images show the threaded section on the inner wall of a metal pole (inner diameter: 18 mm) observed using our 4 mm diameter, 90-degree view borescope.
We compared the visibility achieved with conventional borescope LED lighting against that of the flat dome lighting designed specifically for this borescope.

When using conventional LED lighting with oblique- or side-viewing borescopes to inspect objects with uneven surfaces or glossy finishes, issues such as halation or significant unevenness in lighting can occur.
Using the dedicated flat dome light designed for these borescopes ensures that indirect light illuminates the entire subject evenly, making inspection easier—as demonstrated in the comparison photos.
Since the light source is positioned outside the hole, the effectiveness of the illumination may vary depending on the hole’s depth and diameter.
